Arcade
A retro gaming platform built around a core that loads games and graphics libraries as shared objects at runtime. Switch from one renderer to another mid-game, with a score system and player names.
Third-year software engineering student. I build low-level systems in C and C++, networked games, and the web apps that sit on top of them.
$ whoami ronan.botrel, epitech tek3 $ cat focus.cfg systems = C, C++ gamedev = CSFML, SFML, Lua, Godot web = TypeScript, React, Node, Next $
I like code that runs close to the machine and still has to talk to the outside world: servers, game loops, protocols.
Epitech teaches by projects, so most of what I know came from shipping things in small teams against a deadline. That meant reading man pages late at night, arguing about architecture, and rewriting a network layer twice before it held up.
This year I'm working on AREA and starting our Epitech Innovative Project. I'm looking for an internship on backend or systems code, with people who care about how it's built.
Pulled from my public GitHub repositories, most recently updated first.

A multiplayer network game: a server runs the world, AI clients compete in it, and a graphical monitor shows the match.
A Wolfenstein 3D remake written in C with CSFML. Raycasting renderer and gameplay coded from scratch, redesigned with a cyberpunk look.
Finds the largest square on a map while avoiding obstacles. Works on maps read from a file or generated on the fly.
Le projet "space_hunter" est une application développée en langage C, à l'aide de la CSFML, visant à reproduire le jeux duck hunt dans un style spatial.
Rated on how comfortable I'd be shipping with them tomorrow.
AREA, the Epitech Innovative Project kickoff, and advanced C++ and networking modules. Looking for a 2027 internship.
Object-oriented design in C++ and network programming. MyFTP, NanoTekSpice, Arcade, Raytracer and Zappy.
Unix and C fundamentals, from algorithms like Setting Up to a raycasting game with Wolfenstein.
Side job.
